About Us

E-MAC was established in July 2007

"To promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of refugees, asylum seekers, and ethnic minority migrant workers of any nationality and their families, resident in Derby and Derbyshire, and in particular the advancement of education, health protection and the relief of poverty and distress." E-MAC Constitution

E-MAC is a constituted group with charity status. Its aim is to provide help and advice to any ethnic minority migrant group with attention focused on migrant workers from Eastern Europe. We help on issues regarding Employment, Housing, Welfare Rights, Tax Credits Employment Tribunals and many other.

The organisation holds regular drop in surgeries at convenient time for advice on the aforementioned issues at St Chad's Centre, St Chad's Road, Derby, just below the Polish Church.

We have a bank of interpreters that specialise in Central and Eastern European languages includingPolish, Czech, Slovak, Russian, Hungarian, Lithuanian and German. Most of interpreters are trained to level 2. Their skills enable clients to feel confident so difficult problems can be resolved in their own language.

All clients' details are treated with confidentiality. Any client with an ongoing enquiry is seen on regular basis to update them on the progress if their problem.

E-MAC can provide translations to any documentation that require any Eastern European language. Companies and organisations throughout the City and County, have used this service to enhance public awareness and provide information to the new communities.
